Campaign against the rise of the far right – antifaBoat
Antifa Social Club Marseille
Freedom of movement for all, for a dignified life, without borders or conditions! In the face of the rise of the far right, let’s get organised!
With Antifa Social Club Marseille, an anti-fascist collective in Marseille, we are joining forces with f.Lotta and other groups, because in the face of the rise of the far right in Europe and around the world, at a time when borders are becoming increasingly deadly and the slightest show of solidarity is being repressed, it is becoming urgent to organise.
2017: European far-right groups, including Génération Identitaire, raised several thousand euros by launching a fund to finance ‘anti-migrant’ actions. They plan to disrupt rescue operations in the Mediterranean.
2018: On 5 October, around 20 Génération Identitaire activists violently attacked and occupied the office of SOS Méditerranée, unfurling a banner reading ‘SOS Méditerranée complicit in human trafficking’.
2023: Five activists from the identitarian group Défends Marseille were arrested after displaying a banner with the message ‘Let them go back to Africa’ (echoing the racist remarks of an RN deputy in the National Assembly) in front of a concert organised by SOS Méditerranée, a rescue NGO. @ASCM
2023/2024: Two Italian decrees significantly hampering rescue operations in the central Mediterranean (Piantedosi decree, Flussi decree); ‘An authoritarian trend; this seems to be the Italian government’s response, in line with the rise of the far right in Europe.’ @CivilMRCC
2025: ‘Several activists and journalists critical of Italy’s migration policies have been targeted with advanced spyware.’ @Sea-Watch
Within this increasingly worrying political context, the Mediterranean, which is the crossroads of many migration routes, is becoming increasingly prone to violence. States are intensifying their control and repression policies, and the institutional and small-group far right is making the expulsion and criminalisation of foreigners and the closure of borders the core of its racist agenda.
The fight against the far right and the hardening of migration policies is not limited to the borders of a single country. It is a transnational struggle, because the rise of fascist and xenophobic actions and policies is an international and global phenomenon. This is neither an isolated struggle nor a new one; it stems from the need to combat a broader process based on state racism, imperialism and neocolonialism!
In the face of this racist internationalism, let us unite for a world where everyone has the right to a dignified life!
Who we are
An anti-fascist collective based in Marseille, founded almost three years ago. For us, the far right takes both institutional and group forms; these two modes of organisation are complementary, and the fight against one must always be waged in parallel with the fight against the other. We believe that consistent anti-fascism must therefore tackle the far right in all its forms, but also the world that necessitates its existence and makes it possible. As such, we are involved in social movements, building active solidarity against racism, sexism, capitalism, borders and transphobia, and always on the side of peoples fighting for their self-determination.
